Founded in 1974, Centro de Niños y Padres (Center for Young Children and their Families) has forged a proud history of helping families create a brighter future for their children through our early intervention programs.

Located in King Hall on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles, our Center is at a nexus point of both cultures and community, which makes our educational legacy so unique and pertinent, as a crossroads of sorts for our children and their families.

Much like the families we serve, our staff, teaching techniques, curriculum and services have grown and changed over the decades, but one thing has not. Our committment to helping the culturally diverse and multilingual families we serve find the right path to their child’s educational, social and emotional development.

Accreditations and Licenses

Our Center has served as a provider (vendor) for the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center for over 30 years. Currently, our Center has been recognized as a model early intervention program by SEEDS, a project of the California Department of Education and Sacramento County Office of Education. Our Story is Your Story.

In our over 35-year history, Centro de Niños y Padres has served over 1,500 families in Los Angeles and the surrounding communities. We’ve provided necessary instruction, support and intervention to help these families and their children make the most of their educational promise.

In most cases, we only have the chance to work with children and their families for a year or two, but to our staff, the memories and lessons learned last a lifetime. They make our staff better individuals, better educators and a better team to serve the next child and family in need of our help.
